Nashville Public Library Metro Nashville Public Schools
In 2009, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean called for a new partnership between the public and school libraries to improve the school libraries, to foster resource sharing between the two institutions, and to improve student access to learning materials. The Mayor has allocated Metropolitan Government funds to carry out this project.
The project was fully implemented in all 16 Metro Nashville high schools during the 2010-2011 academic year. Limitless Libraries will expand to middle schools in 2011. Click the logo above to link to the Limitless Libraries site.
Student Benefits:
Students can have public library cards, and they can also use their school ID to check out NPL materials
(use the 9-digit student ID number that begins with 190... and either use your existing NPL PIN number or if you don't have a NPL card, use your birthday MMDD as your PIN number)
Daily school courier service delivers public library and interlibrary loan materials from local universities to students at their schools
Curriculum-related e-books are provided for students
Students gain access to new formats (DVDs, playaways, new databases)
One-stop website makes it easy for student to gwt what they need
*Parental permission required for students to check out public library materials on their school ID for school delivery
